Hi there!

We’re the “Mbuyu twins”! Simply explained, we are both first born twins. “Mbuyu” is the word for a “first born” twin in the Zambian language of Kikaonde.

Even our email address portrays this reality — “twotwinkopp@….”!

The thing is, we don’t look alike! Carol is an identical twin; I (Tim) am not! But you know what, identical or not we’ve discovered people still got us confused! With Carol and Cathy, it would be a bit more expected I guess, but with Tom and me, we didn’t resemble each other in the least. We tried to help folks by saying the “i” in Tim was for straight hair, and the “o” in Tom was for curly hair. After all, a look at our noggins would show the difference pretty clearly. But oh no, they still got us confused. They hear “twins” and immediately spend the rest of their lives wondering who is who!! No worries, we both answered to both names, depending of course for what we were being summoned!!

We’ve been married for almost 43 years! And I do believe we’re more in love with each other now than ever! We are indeed each other’s best friends — soul mates.

Our life verse has been Philippians 1:6 which says, “And I am sure of this, that he [God] who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” This is our joy, experience and blessed hope — all wrapped up in a wonderful package!

OK, this has been an experimental ‘first’ submission in the WordPress world. We’ll see how it goes!
